Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in a customer service or reception role preferred
  • ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • good verbal communication skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • physical ability to perform front desk duties including standing and sitting for extended periods
  • compliance with facility policies and procedures
  • willingness to attend required in-service education programs
  • ability to interact professionally with elderly and disabled individuals

Job Duties

  • Manages the telephone and switchboard
  • operates paging and telephone system as required
  • answers calls timely and courteously
  • directs calls promptly and accurately
  • assists visitors upon arrival to the facility by greeting them courteously
  • provides directions or contacts the person visitors have come to see
  • ensures all visitors and vendors sign in
  • demonstrates customer service skills in every interaction by smiling and greeting effectively
  • offers assistance and maintains a neat and orderly work area
  • stays aware of the environment and focuses attention on the front entrance
  • performs other clerical duties such as assisting the administrator with special tasks or projects
  • handles mail and filing as needed
  • prepares informational packets and brochures for visitors
  • assists with administrative duties including filing, posting accounts, and data entry
  • orders supplies as directed
  • attends in-service education programs
  • complies with standard precautions, exposure control plan, fire drill, and evacuation procedures
  • maintains confidentiality of resident and facility records
  • protects residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse
  • protects personal property of residents
  • performs others duties as directed by supervisor or administrator
