Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- previous customer service or clerical experience
- ability to operate telephone switchboard
- knowledge of emergency codes
- strong communication skills
- ability to update and maintain databases
- ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- professional demeanor and adherence to confidentiality
- CPR and CPI certification obtained during orientation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- previous experience in customer service or clerical role
- proficiency in operating electronic switchboards
- knowledge of hospital emergency codes
- ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- CPR and CPI certification obtained in orientation
- some college courses preferred
- experience in behavioral health setting preferred
- one to three years as a PBX operator preferred
Job Duties
- Operate an electronic switchboard to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls
- place long distance and conference calls as needed
- provide directory information to internal and external inquirers
- maintain updated listings of all facility telephone numbers, extensions, and cell phone numbers
- manage daily lists of on-call staff including contact numbers
- make clear and accurate announcements over the internal PA system
- demonstrate proper customer service with patients, staff, vendors, and visitors
