  • Knowledge of medical office procedures
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of medical records management
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and basic arithmetic
  • Ability to operate computers, fax machines, multi-line telephone systems, and copy machines
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, peers, and clinical staff
  • High school diploma
  • Two years experience in a medical office setting
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Additional education may substitute for one or two years of medical office experience

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, peers, and clinical staff
  • Operate office equipment such as multi-line telephones, fax machines, and copy machines
  • Maintain accurate medical records and manage scheduling and patient flow
