Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in customer service or clerical roles preferred
  • ability to perform physical tasks as outlined in the job description
  • ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • ability to maintain patience and professionalism in challenging situations
  • compliance with residents' rights and facility policies and procedures
  • willingness to learn and adapt to facility protocols and safety standards

  • knowledge of standard precautions, exposure control plan, fire drill and evacuation procedures

  • basic clerical skills including filing, data entry, and mail handling
  • ability to attend and participate in in-service education programs

Job Duties

  • Manage the telephone and switchboard
  • operate paging/telephone system as required
  • answer calls timely and courteously
  • direct calls promptly and accurately
  • greet visitors upon entry to the building courteously
  • assist visitors by giving directions or contacting the person they have come to visit
  • ensure all visitors/vendors sign in
  • demonstrate customer service skills in every interaction via phone or in person
  • maintain a neat and orderly work area
  • perform other clerical duties as assigned
  • assist the administrator or others with special tasks or projects
  • handle mail and filing as needed
  • prepare informational packets and brochures for visitors
  • assist with administrative duties including filing, posting accounts, and data entry
  • order supplies as directed
  • attend in-service education programs
  • maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records
  • protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse
  • protect residents' personal property
  • perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor or administrator
