Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in customer service or clerical roles preferred
- ability to perform physical tasks as outlined in the job description
- ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- ability to maintain patience and professionalism in challenging situations
- compliance with residents' rights and facility policies and procedures
- willingness to learn and adapt to facility protocols and safety standards

- Organized and detailed in work performance
- good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience
- genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
- knowledge of standard precautions, exposure control plan, fire drill and evacuation procedures
- ability to maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information
- ability to work as part of a team
- basic clerical skills including filing, data entry, and mail handling
- ability to attend and participate in in-service education programs
Job Duties
- Manage the telephone and switchboard
- operate paging/telephone system as required
- answer calls timely and courteously
- direct calls promptly and accurately
- greet visitors upon entry to the building courteously
- assist visitors by giving directions or contacting the person they have come to visit
- ensure all visitors/vendors sign in
- demonstrate customer service skills in every interaction via phone or in person
- maintain a neat and orderly work area
- perform other clerical duties as assigned
- assist the administrator or others with special tasks or projects
- handle mail and filing as needed
- prepare informational packets and brochures for visitors
- assist with administrative duties including filing, posting accounts, and data entry
- order supplies as directed
- attend in-service education programs
- maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records
- protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse
- protect residents' personal property
- perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor or administrator
