Job Requirements

  • Relevant experience or training in a healthcare setting
  • Fluency in English
  • Good and regular attendance
  • Ability to perform other related duties as assigned
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle emergency protocols promptly and accurately

  • Ability to communicate clearly and courteously
  • Good organizational and multitasking skills
  • Basic knowledge of hospital protocols and emergency procedures

Job Duties

  • Operate telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing and interoffice calls
  • Greet and receive visitors and direct them appropriately
  • Contact and meet families to sign admission paperwork timely
  • Perform charge entry and control to facilitate accurate capture and reconciliation of charges
  • Answer, route and screen outside calls to proper departments or extensions
  • Take accurate messages and hold calls when necessary
  • Screen in-house calls and take messages for doctors and personnel
  • Page emergency alerts such as code blue and fire per protocol
  • Maintain directory of departments, extension numbers and hospital phone numbers
  • Log patient names, room numbers and telephone extensions
  • Notify clinical leadership of emergency patients
  • Receive disaster information and notify proper personnel
  • Signal all-clear when appropriate
