Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role preferred
  • ability to communicate clearly and courteously
  • basic computer skills and familiarity with telephone systems
  • physical ability to perform duties within facility requirements
  • willingness to attend in-service education programs
  • commitment to resident privacy and safety
  • ability to work well in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Manage the telephone and switchboard
  • operate paging and telephone system as required
  • answer calls timely and courteously
  • direct calls promptly and accurately
  • assist visitors upon arrival by greeting them courteously
  • provide directions or contact the person visitors are coming to see
  • ensure all visitors and vendors sign in
  • demonstrate customer service skills including smiling, greeting effectively, offering assistance, and maintaining a neat work area
  • maintain awareness of environment focusing on the front entrance
  • perform clerical duties such as assisting administrator or others with special tasks or projects
  • handle mail and filing as needed
  • prepare informational packets and brochures for visitors
  • assist with administrative duties including filing, posting accounts, and data entry
  • order supplies as directed
  • attend in-service education programs
  • follow Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures
  • maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information
  • protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse
  • protect residents personal property
  • perform other duties as directed by supervisor or administrator
