Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience working in a medical environment
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to multitask and handle stressful situations calmly
  • ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • ability to operate telephone systems and scheduling software
  • attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in medical settings
  • strong organizational skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • ability to remain calm with upset customers
  • teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • experience with EMR systems such as E-Clinical Works, Epic, Athena Health, or NextGen preferred
  • two years of front desk medical experience preferred
  • customer service experience
  • knowledge of HIPAA regulations

Job Duties

  • Answer phone calls using the Genesys system
  • route calls to appropriate staff
  • schedule patient appointments
  • document discussions, messages, and actions taken
  • perform patient check-ins and check-outs
  • verify insurance and enter data
  • resolve patient issues independently and collaboratively
