Job Duties

  • greets visitors and employees to office
  • determines nature of business and provides appropriate information
  • refers to appropriate staff members or department
  • directs deliveries of items to appropriate offices
  • answers visitors' and employees' questions based on knowledge of the organization, department and policy
  • notifies supervisor of difficult situations
  • performs various related clerical duties including typing brief memos, letters, tables, and forms
  • filing
  • opening, distributing and/or collecting mail
  • photocopying
  • maintaining logs of items such as deliveries or routine information
  • posting transactions and information into computer and performing simple routine calculations
  • provides support to overall office operations including ensuring supplies, copy machines, fax machines are in proper order and maintained
  • reports any issues proactively
  • operates a multi-line telephone console to relay incoming, outgoing and intra-system calls
  • provides approved information to callers and records and transmits messages
  • maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition
