Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year work experience preferred, preferably in medical front office setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and computer use
  • Knowledge of medical front office procedures
  • Experience with Cerner scheduling system
  • Ability to use Windows software
  • Excellent communication skills in a busy environment
  • Ability to operate computers, photocopiers, and telephone systems

Job Duties

  • Greet and check patients out after their clinic appointments
  • Schedule return appointments
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance
  • Complete authorization process and insurance benefits verification
  • Greet and check-in patients arriving for clinic appointments
  • Ensure proper paperwork is completed
  • Route patient chart to appropriate location
  • Serve as a liaison between patient and medical support staff
