Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in customer service or clerical role preferred
- strong organizational skills
- ability to operate telephone and paging systems
- basic computer skills
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- ability to follow facility policies and procedures
- ability to work as part of a team
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- physical ability to perform duties including standing, sitting, walking, and occasional lifting
- patience and professionalism in dealing with elderly and disabled populations

Job Duties
- Manages the telephone and switchboard
- operate paging/telephone system as required
- answers calls timely and courteously
- directs calls promptly and accurately
- assists visitors upon arrival to the facility including greeting visitors courteously and giving directions or contacting the person they have come to visit
- ensures all visitors/vendors sign in
- demonstrates customer service skills including smiling, effective greetings, offering assistance, maintaining a neat work area, and focusing attention on the front entrance
- performs other clerical duties such as assisting the administrator with special tasks or projects, mail handling, filing, preparing informational packets and brochures, assisting with administrative duties including filing, posting accounts, data entry, ordering supplies
- attends in-service education programs
- is familiar with standard precautions, exposure control plan, fire drill and evacuation procedures and knows how to use the information
- maintains confidentiality of resident and facility records/information
- protects residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse
- protects the personal property of the residents
- performs other duties as directed by the supervisor or administrator
