Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in customer service or receptionist role preferred
- ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively
- strong interpersonal skills
- proficiency in operating telephone and paging systems
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- willingness to attend required training and in-service education
- physical ability to perform essential duties
- detail-oriented and punctual
Job Qualifications
- Organized and detailed in work performance
- good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience
- genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
- ability to comply with Residents' Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures
- capable of performing physical demands of the position
- experience in customer service or administrative tasks
- knowledge of basic office equipment and standard clerical procedures
Job Duties
- Manage the telephone and switchboard
- operate paging and telephone system as required
- answer calls timely and courteously
- direct calls promptly and accurately
- assist visitors upon arrival including greeting courteously and providing directions
- ensure all visitors and vendors sign in
- demonstrate customer service skills such as smiling, effective greetings, offering assistance, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, and environmental awareness at the front entrance
- perform clerical duties including assisting administrator with special tasks or projects, mail handling, filing, preparing informational packets and brochures for visitors, data entry, and supply ordering
- attend in-service education programs
- maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records and information
- comply with safety and procedural standards like Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures
- protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse
- protect residents’ personal property
- perform other duties as directed by supervisor or administrator
