Job Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others
- ability to make independent decisions when necessary
- tactfulness and professionalism when dealing with personnel, residents, visitors, and the public
- ability to remain calm and level-headed in emergencies
- well-groomed and able to work harmoniously with others
- willingness to learn new methods and incorporate them into care practices
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- capable of operating computers, copier, postage meter, fax machine, intercom, and telephone system
- comfortable learning and using new computer operating systems, word processing, spreadsheets, and email
- able to stand or walk up to two hours a day and sit up to eight hours
- able to frequently lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- able to kneel, bend, and reach frequently
- must assist with resident evacuation when necessary
- ability to cope with mental and emotional stress
- must maintain emotional stability and personal integrity
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role preferred
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- proficiency with computer operating systems, office equipment, and software applications
- ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- knowledge of HIPAA and resident rights preferred
- strong organizational skills
- ability to work calmly under pressure
- professional appearance and demeanor
- ability to learn new technologies
- commitment to customer service and teamwork
Job Duties
- Ensures CAPLICO Core Values and Code of Conduct are adhered to at all times
- Ensures compliance with Resident Rights and HIPAA policies at all times
- Provides a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors
- Greets visitors courteously and directs them to appropriate areas or personnel
- Operates paging and telephone systems and answers incoming calls professionally
- Sorts and distributes incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail for pickup
- Maintains accurate listings of residents and staff and reports equipment malfunctions
- Organizes information packets for job applicants and new staff
- Performs clerical functions such as typing, copying, faxing for all departments
- Attends designated staff meetings
- May perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
