Job Requirements

- Six months of clerical or business training or receptionist experience

Job Duties
- Proactively welcome patients, families, staff, and guests in an open, receptive, kind and solution-oriented way
- Actively engage with visitors as they enter, wait, and leave the lobby or site
- Receive, screen, and direct calls appropriately while maintaining confidentiality of patient and staff information ensuring a smooth handoff
- Greet and manage visitor and patient arrivals ensuring customer-focused handoff
- Monitor the lobby for safety, wait times, and behavioral or clinical concerns, escalating concerns and requesting appropriate resources promptly
- Ensure coverage of the lobby during open hours
- Coordinate requests for information and services as appropriate
- Facilitate communication between departments and staff
- Make announcements using the overhead paging system and relay pros as directed
- Assist with the hospital's emergency code situations including emergency paging
- Provide miscellaneous services at the reception desk such as monitoring sign-out of hospital vehicles, selling meal tickets, balancing petty cash, securing patient valuables, logging parcels for shipping, maintaining the key log, and providing other directed services
- Train new and fill-in staff on role purpose, duties, and expectations
- Perform administrative duties as requested by leadership including scanning and ordering supplies
- Occasionally complete or support belongings checks and patient registration
- Perform other duties as assigned
