Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of relevant experience required
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a team of student staff
  • Successful completion of background check

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of relevant experience required
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Experience in large facility scheduling and event planning
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience in recreational sports and/or university settings
  • Knowledge of Social Tables or comparable event management software
  • Previous experience planning and providing on-site staff support for events

Job Duties

  • Lead special event operations and staff for Recreational Sport facilities
  • Serve as the evening and weekend professional staff contact for events, reservations, customers, and clients
  • Ensure all event groups follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Participate in event planning and consultation with student organizations, external clients, catering, and facility operations
  • Work with vendors and services to arrange equipment and provide special event coverage
  • Lead hiring, training, orientation, scheduling, and timekeeping approval for a 30-person student staff
  • Provide direction, deploy resources, solve routine problems, and focus on team performance
