Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • post graduate or degree in relevant field preferred
  • two to four years of related banquet, catering, or event planning experience preferred
  • experience within luxury, lifestyle, or independent hotels preferred
  • ability to prioritize and remain highly organized
  • excellent computer skills including typing and software proficiency
  • strong communication skills
  • proficiency in restaurant POS, reservation, and inventory applications
  • ability to use Property Management System
  • excellent organization, prioritization, and time management
  • ability to work well in high-pressure situations
  • knowledge of Delphi software
  • knowledge of staffing guidelines for event spaces
  • knowledge of important hotel accounts and clients
  • knowledge of legal and contractual agreements
  • familiarity with basic hotel procedures including accounting, reservations, front office and food and beverage
  • ability to frequently lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 30 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • ability to accurately input information in the Property Management System

  • ability to work under pressure
  • knowledge of Delphi software including BEO creation
  • familiarity with staff guidelines for event setup and breakdown
  • knowledge of key hotel accounts and clients
  • understanding of legal and contractual agreements
  • knowledge of basic hotel procedures including accounting, reservations, front office and food and beverage departments

Job Duties

  • Create detailed banquet event orders to meet client specifications
  • manage room blocks, food and beverage requirements, meeting room setups, billing and additional client needs
  • communicate and enforce contractual agreements related to meeting space and food and beverage
  • ensure timely payment of guest checks, master folios and deposits
  • provide accurate information to all departments including during BEO and group resume meetings
  • collaborate with culinary operations for event menu design and customization
  • maintain proper event documentation and update Delphi system records
  • organize site visits, planning meetings and pre/post-convention meetings
  • greet clients upon arrival and act as on-site contact to resolve issues
  • maximize revenue by upselling hotel services and food and beverage outlets
  • coordinate with outside vendors as needed
  • maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance and work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
