Job Requirements

  • prior experience in a professional kitchen
  • knowledge of safe food handling
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Job Duties

  • roll sushi and shuck oysters
  • prepare sushi features and garnishes
  • inspect, clean, and maintain food preparation and serving areas
  • regulate cooking equipment temperatures
  • check freshness and rotate stock
  • adhere to portion sizes and cooking standards
  • season, cook, bake, roast, broil, and steam foods
  • measure, mix, portion, and arrange ingredients
  • ensure proper plate presentation
  • wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables
  • carve and trim meats
  • assist and substitute for other cooks
  • close kitchen following checklist
  • attend meetings and collaborate with team
  • fill in for employees to ensure service
