Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- must be 18 years of age or older
- must have reliable telephone and transportation
- must have valid driver's license
- ability to treat all information as confidential
- must possess tact and professionalism when dealing with diverse situations and individuals
- proficiency in reading, writing, understanding, and executing instructions in English
- must be detail-oriented and able to perform with minimal supervision
- ability to handle multiple situations simultaneously
- excellent radio and telephone communication skills
- physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly and perform physical activities such as stooping, squatting, pushing, standing, and bending throughout the shift
- willingness to work in various climatic conditions including extreme heat and cold
- must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- must pass a criminal background check
- willingness and ability to handle non-routine situations like flight delays and passenger accommodations
- citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- must have a clear driving record
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- computer experience preferred
- previous customer service experience preferred
- ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English verbally and in writing
- capable of multitasking and performing with minimal supervision
- excellent radio and telephone skills
- knowledge of FAA, airline, company, and airport regulations
- ability to work cooperatively with clients, staff, and public
- experience in handling heavy lifting and physical endurance
- strong attention to detail and safety orientation
Job Duties
- Handling and care of passenger baggage
- loading, unloading, transportation to and from various locations of the airport
- handling and care of U.S. Mail, freight, express parcels
- loading, unloading, transportation to and from various locations of the airport
- ensuring all ground handling is accomplished according to customer and company specifications
- prioritizing safety of personnel, passengers, equipment, and aircraft at all times
- operation of aircraft servicing equipment including electrical, engine start, lavatories, water service, and deicing
- providing safe guidance of aircraft to and from parked areas using visual, hand, verbal, and electronic communications
- pushing or towing aircraft to designated locations
- assisting disabled passengers in and out of aircraft
- thorough cleaning of aircraft interiors including turn and overnight cleaning
- pulling computer work assignments and provisioning aircraft as directed
- accurately completing all reports in a timely manner
- maintaining familiarity with FAA, airline, company, and airport regulations
- keeping supervisor informed of needs, maintaining cleanliness of work area, and reporting maintenance issues
- projecting a positive image and responding courteously to clients, staff, and the public
- attending meetings and required training sessions
- maintaining records, reports, and files as required
- wearing proper uniform and protective gear with visible identification
- adhering to company policies and contributing to achievement of company objectives
- using company and client equipment, supplies, and resources efficiently
- performing other related duties as assigned
