Job Requirements

  • No education requirement
  • No experience requirement
  • U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • Must be able to obtain a SIDA badge and meet local airport requirements
  • Physical ability to lift and move items of 70 pounds regularly and repetitively lift 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces
  • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods
  • Ability to work in cramped or high places
  • Availability to work shift work and/or overtime including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must comply with company attendance standards
  • Must maintain prescribed uniform wear and well-groomed appearance

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work well with others as part of a team
  • Ability to work under stressful situations
  • Successfully complete Ramp Agent training program with a 90 percent or greater average
  • Ability to read documents and follow instructions
  • Learn and understand ramp operations procedures, rules and regulations
  • Awareness of hazardous situations and ability to handle emergencies
  • Ability to meet grooming standards as outlined in company handbooks and labor agreements
  • Ability to communicate verbally and via radio equipment
  • Possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • Ability to obtain a SIDA badge and meet airport requirements
  • May be required to obtain a Customs Seal to work international flights
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance as per company standards
  • At least 18 years of age

Job Duties

  • Provide friendly service to and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external customers
  • Work cooperatively to ensure the success of the company
  • Provide legendary customer service to passengers and cargo service users by servicing aircraft at ramps and terminals
  • Load, unload, service, guide, and direct company aircraft
  • Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials as required
  • Handle all aspects of loading, stowing, and unloading baggage, cargo, airmail, air freight, ballast and company materials according to operational plans
  • Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft while preparing necessary records
  • Warehouse, weigh, stack, and check air cargo for accuracy to identify and correct discrepancies
  • Safeguard customers' baggage, cargo, air mail, and company materials from weather, theft, damage, or destruction
  • Use jetway stairs frequently to carry items to aircraft bins
  • Review and correct cargo forms for accuracy
  • Perform interior aircraft cabin cleaning including sweeping, window cleaning, cleaning galleys and disposal containers
  • Clean and service lavatories, operate lavatory carts and dispose of contents
  • May stock aircraft cabin interiors with supplies and maintain inventory
  • Transport cabin and cleaning equipment between storage areas and aircraft
  • Operate motorized equipment including belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, push back tugs, bag carts, lavatory carts and de-icers
  • Manually push and pull carts and containers
  • Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions and environments
  • Complete required forms and enter information into company systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
