Job Requirements

  • No education requirement
  • No prior experience required
  • Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • Must be able to obtain a SIDA badge and meet local airport requirements
  • Possible requirement to obtain a Customs Seal for international flights
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds regularly and repetitively lift 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces
  • Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods
  • Must be able to work in cramped or high places
  • Must be able to carry heavy items up and down jetway stairs
  • Must maintain ability to wear prescribed uniforms
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per company standards
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have work authorization
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must comply with company attendance standards
  • Ability to work shift work and/or overtime

Job Qualifications

  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete ramp agent training program with a minimum 90 percent average
  • Ability to read documents, follow instructions, and understand ramp operations procedures
  • Awareness of hazardous situations and ability to handle emergencies
  • Strong communication skills for verbal and radio communication
  • Teamwork skills and ability to work under stress
  • Ability to meet grooming standards
  • No prior experience required but must be able to learn quickly
  • Commitment to safety and company standards
  • Ability to work assigned shifts including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to comply with attendance standards
  • Ability to work overtime and shift work

Job Duties

  • Provide friendly service to and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external customers
  • Work in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of the company
  • Service aircraft at ramps and terminals by loading, unloading, guiding, and directing company aircraft
  • Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials
  • Handle all aspects of loading, stowing, and unloading baggage, cargo, airmail, air freight, ballast and company materials
  • Submit cargo bin loading slips to operations agents
  • Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft
  • Weigh, stack, and warehouse air cargo and check for discrepancies
  • Safeguard customers' baggage, air cargo, air mail, and company materials from weather, loss, theft, and damage
  • Perform interior aircraft cabin cleaning including sweeping, cleaning windows, galleys and disposal containers
  • Clean and service lavatories and operate lavatory carts
  • Stock aircraft cabin interiors with relevant equipment and supplies
  • Operate or drive motorized equipment such as belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, push back tugs, and de-icers
  • Manually push and pull push carts and containers
  • Complete forms and paperwork connected with work assignments
  • Adhere to safety and grooming standards
  • May perform other job duties as directed by leadership
