Job Requirements

  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • Ability to lift and move items of 70 pounds or more on a regular basis
  • Ability to repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces
  • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods
  • Ability to work in cramped or high places
  • Ability to carry heavy items up and down jetway stairs
  • Able to maintain a well-groomed appearance per company standards
  • Must comply with company attendance and shift work standards
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to work shift work and overtime
  • Must be able to successfully complete Ramp Agent training
  • Ability to communicate via radio equipment
  • Must adhere to grooming and uniform standards

Job Qualifications

  • No education requirement
  • Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • Must be able to obtain a SIDA badge and meet all local airport requirements
  • May be required to obtain a Customs Seal and meet requirements to work international flights
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete Ramp Agent training program with 90 percent or greater average and evaluation period
  • Ability to read documents, follow instructions, and learn ramp operations procedures, rules and regulations
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and via radio equipment
  • Must be alert to moving vehicles or aircraft
  • Must maintain grooming standards as outlined in the Ground Operations Employee Handbook and Labor Agreement
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a team
  • Must be able to handle emergencies and hazardous situations as needed
  • Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Job Duties

  • Provide friendly service to and maintains positive relationships with all internal and external customers
  • Work in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of the company
  • Responsible for providing legendary customer service by servicing aircraft at ramps and terminals
  • Load, unload, service, guide, and direct company aircraft
  • Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials as required
  • Handle all aspects of loading, stowing, and unloading baggage, cargo, airmail, air freight, ballast and company materials according to a predetermined plan
  • Submit cargo bin loading slips to operations agents
  • Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft
  • Warehouse, weigh, stack, pick up and deliver air cargo
  • Safeguard customers' baggage, cargo, and company materials from weather, loss, theft, damage or destruction
  • Use jetway stairs frequently to carry items to the aircraft bin
  • Review and correct cargo forms as necessary
  • Perform interior aircraft cabin cleaning including sweeping, cleaning windows, galleys, and disposal containers
  • Clean and service lavatories, operate lavatory carts, and dispose of contents
  • Stock aircraft cabin interiors as a provisioning agent
  • Transport cabin and cleaning equipment between aircraft storage areas
  • Operate motorized equipment such as belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, pushback tugs, bag carts, lavatory carts, and de-icers
  • Manually push and pull push carts and containers
  • Work around passenger terminals, hangars, and airfreight facilities both indoors and outdoors
  • Complete forms and paperwork connected with work assignments
  • Meet all physical ability requirements and adhere to grooming standards
  • Perform other job duties as directed by leaders.
