Job Requirements

  • Must be an internal employee in good standing according to Delta's Internal Mobility and Residency Policies
  • Meet performance standards and tenure requirements in the current role
  • Ability to safely lift and carry weights up to 70 pounds
  • Must be able to work in harsh weather conditions
  • Willingness to work between 20 and 40 hours per week depending on seniority
  • Compliance with safety regulations and protocols

Job Duties

  • Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, in addition to guiding incoming and departing aircraft from the gate positions
  • Safeguard cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather
  • Safely drive and operate ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in congested areas
  • Operate baggage scanners and computers to ensure baggage is accurately routed to the customer's destination
  • Adhere to safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
  • Handle physically demanding tasks including bending, lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods
  • Work shifts ranging from early morning to overnight based on operational needs
