Job Requirements
- Be an internal employee in good standing according to company’s Internal Mobility Policy and Residency Policy
- Meet performance standards and tenure requirements in current role
- Compliance with safety and operational procedures
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads up to 70 pounds
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions including heat, rain, and snow
- Availability to work between 20 and 40 hours per week
- Must pass pre-employment screenings and background checks
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No prior experience required as this is an entry-level position
- Ability to follow safety protocols strictly
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive physical work
- Basic computer skills for operating baggage scanners and related equipment
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, nights, and weekends
Job Duties
- Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft
- Safeguard cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather
- Safely drive and operate ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in congested areas
- Operate baggage scanners and computers to ensure accurate routing of baggage
- Guide incoming and departing aircraft from gate positions to ensure timely connections
- Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational procedures
- Perform physically demanding tasks including bending, lifting, standing, and walking in diverse weather conditions
