Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • computer experience preferred
  • previous customer service experience preferred
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • must have reliable telephone and transportation
  • must have valid driver's license
  • treat all information as confidential
  • possess tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees and the public
  • must be able to do repeated heavy lifting up to 70 lbs for extended periods regularly
  • must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout shift
  • must be willing and able to work in various climatic conditions including extreme heat and cold
  • must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
  • must pass a criminal background check
  • must be willing and able to cope with non-routine situations including early/late flights, weather and mechanical delays, passenger assistance
  • must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
  • must be able to verbally direct in English
  • must be a citizen of the United States or possess necessary authorization from INS
  • must have clear driving record

Job Duties

  • Handling and care of passenger baggage
  • loading, unloading, transportation to and from various locations of the airport
  • handling and care of U.S. mail, freight, express parcels
  • loading, unloading, transportation to and from various locations of the airport
  • ensure all ground handling is accomplished according to customer and company specifications
  • prioritize safety of personnel, passengers, equipment, and aircraft at all times
  • operate aircraft servicing equipment including electrical, engine start, lavatories, water service, and deicing when applicable
  • provide safe guidance of aircraft to and from parked areas, taxiways, and gate areas using visual, hand, verbal, and electronic communications
  • push or tow aircraft to and from designated locations
  • assist disabled passengers in and out of aircraft
  • thoroughly clean aircraft interiors according to company and client procedures
  • pull computer work assignments and provision aircraft as directed
  • accurately complete all reports in a timely manner
  • maintain familiarity with FAA, airline, company, and airport regulations
  • keep supervisors informed of needs, report maintenance requirements, maintain cleanliness of work areas
  • project a positive image and respond courteously to clients, staff, and public inquiries
  • attend required meetings and in-services
  • utilize appropriate communication channels and maintain records and files as required
  • adhere to uniform and protective gear policies, keep identification visible
  • follow company policies and participate in company objectives
  • use company and client equipment, supplies, and resources responsibly and cost-effectively
  • perform other duties as requested
  • comply with all safety requirements including equipment training, immediate reporting of unsafe conditions and injuries, wearing PPE, and attending safety training
