Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- must be 18 years of age or older
- must have reliable telephone and transportation
- must have valid driver’s license
- must be able to do repeated heavy lifting up to 70 lbs regularly
- must be able to sit, stand, lift, and bend throughout shift
- must be willing and able to work in extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, ice, and snow
- must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- must pass a criminal background check
- must be willing and able to cope with irregular work hours and non-routine situations such as flight delays and passenger accommodations
- must be able to read, write, and understand English
- must be able to verbally direct in English
- must be a U.S. citizen or have appropriate INS authorization
- must have a clear driving record
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- computer experience preferred
- previous customer service experience preferred
- must be able to perform repeated heavy lifting up to 70 lbs
- must be able to work in various climatic conditions including extreme heat and cold
- must be able to read, write, understand, and verbally communicate in English
- knowledge of FAA, airline, company, and airport regulations is preferred
- strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal tactfully with clients, employees, and the public
- must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Job Duties
- Handling and care of passenger baggage
- loading, unloading, and transportation of baggage within the airport
- handling and care of U.S. mail, freight, and express parcels
- loading, unloading, and transportation of mail and freight to various airport locations
- accomplishing all ground handling tasks according to customer and company specifications
- prioritizing safety of personnel, passengers, equipment, and aircraft
- operation of aircraft servicing equipment such as electrical, engine start, lavatories, water service, and deicing
- providing safe guidance of aircraft using visual, hand, verbal, and electronic communications
- pushing or towing aircraft to designated locations
- assisting disabled passengers in boarding and deplaning
- thorough cleaning of aircraft interiors including turn and overnight cleaning
- pulling computer work assignments and provision aircraft as directed
- completing accurate reports in a timely manner
- ensuring compliance with all FAA, airline, company, and airport regulations
- reporting maintenance needs and keeping work areas clean
- projecting a positive image and responding courteously to inquiries
- attending meetings and in-service trainings
- maintaining records, reports, and files
- adhering to company dress code and wearing identification
- following company policies and contributing to company goals
- performing other duties as requested
