Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • must have valid driver's license
  • must have reliable telephone and transportation
  • must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
  • must pass criminal background check
  • must have clear driving record
  • must be able to lift heavy loads up to 70 lbs repeatedly
  • must be able to sit, stand, lift, and bend throughout shifts
  • must be willing and able to work in extreme heat and cold conditions
  • must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
  • must treat all information as confidential
  • must be a U.S. citizen or have necessary INS authorization

Job Duties

  • Handling and care of passenger baggage
  • loading, unloading, and transportation to and from various airport locations
  • handling and care of U.S. mail, freight, and express parcels including loading and unloading
  • adhering to customer and company ground handling specifications
  • ensuring safety of personnel, passengers, equipment, and aircraft at all times
  • operating aircraft servicing equipment for electrical, engine start, lavatories, water service, and deicing
  • providing safe guidance of aircraft to and from parked areas, taxiways, and gate areas using visual, hand, verbal, and electronic communications
  • pushing or towing aircraft to and from designated locations on the airport
  • assisting disabled passengers in and out of aircraft
  • thorough cleaning of aircraft interiors including turn and overnight services
  • pulling and completing computer work assignments and reports timely and accurately
  • maintaining compliance with all FAA, airline, company, and airport regulations
  • communicating regularly with supervisors regarding needs and problems
  • maintaining cleanliness and reporting maintenance needs
  • projecting a positive image and responding courteously to inquiries
  • attending meetings and in-services
  • utilizing appropriate communication channels and maintaining records
  • wearing proper uniform and protective gear consistently
  • adhering to company policies and participating in achievement of company objectives
  • using company and client equipment, supplies, and resources conscientiously
  • performing other duties as requested
