Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • high School diploma or equivalent
  • must have reliable telephone and transportation
  • must have valid driver's license
  • must be able to do repeated heavy lifting (up to 70 lbs) for extended periods on a regular basis
  • must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout shift
  • must be willing and able to work in variety of climatic conditions including extreme heat and cold, high winds, rain, ice, and snow
  • must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
  • must pass criminal background check
  • must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
  • must be able to verbally direct in English
  • must be a citizen of the United States or possess proper authorization from Immigration and Naturalization Service
  • must have clear driving record
  • treat all information as confidential
  • possess tact to deal with clients, employees and public
  • willing and able to cope with non-routine situations like delays and passenger assistance

Job Qualifications

  • previous customer service experience preferred

  • must be familiar with all FAA, airline, company, and airport regulations
  • must be able to cope with early/late flights, weather and mechanical delays, and passenger accommodation
  • must possess tact to deal with different levels of people
  • ability to operate various aircraft servicing equipment
  • knowledge of safety practices related to ground handling

Job Duties

  • Handling and care of passenger baggage
  • loading, unloading, transportation to and from various locations of the airport
  • handling and care of U.S. mail, freight, express parcels
  • loading, unloading, transportation to and from various locations of the airport
  • accomplishing all ground handling in accordance with customer and company specifications
  • prioritizing safety of personnel, passengers, equipment and aircraft at all times
  • operating various aircraft servicing equipment including electrical, engine start, lavatories, water service, and deicing
  • providing safe guidance of aircraft to and from parked areas, taxiways and gate areas using visual, hand, verbal and electronic communication
  • pushing or towing aircraft to and from designated airport locations
  • assisting disabled passengers in and out of aircraft
  • thoroughly cleaning aircraft interiors including turn and overnight services
  • pulling computer work assignments and provisioning aircraft as directed
  • completing accurate and timely reports
  • maintaining familiarity with FAA, airline, company, and airport regulations
  • keeping supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas
  • maintaining cleanliness of work area
  • projecting a positive image and responding courteously to client, staff and public inquiries
  • attending meetings and in-services
  • utilizing appropriate communications channels and maintaining records and reports
  • wearing proper uniform and protective gear with visible identification
  • adhering to company policies and procedures
  • using company and client equipment and resources cost-effectively
  • performing other duties as assigned
