Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • mechanical aptitude and ability to problem-solve
  • ability to use hand tools such as pipe wrenches, pry bars, wrenches, and ratchets
  • ability to complete basic railcar repairs and inspections
  • strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • commitment to safety and following proper procedures
  • ability to work in all weather conditions
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to stoop for extended periods and move between kneeling and standing positions
  • ability to wear a respirator
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights
  • passing company physical exam, drug screening, and background check

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • conduct railcar inspections and perform necessary repairs
  • use current repair procedures for railcar maintenance
  • support customer satisfaction by meeting expectations and requirements
  • complete all necessary clerical tasks including invoicing, inspection and work order documentation
  • maintain and update required certifications
  • demonstrate strong knowledge of AAR rules and regulations
  • perform other assigned work-related tasks
