Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum one - three years hotel catering or convention experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • General knowledge of contract laws
  • Local market knowledge preferred
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Delphi and/or Opera
  • Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) desirable
  • Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork

Job Duties

  • Achieves market share and revenue goals by working with the Director of Sales and Director of Catering on goals within assigned market segments
  • Prepares proposals and contracts to maximize profit while satisfying client needs
  • Responds to Requests for Proposals in alignment with brand standards
  • Communicates client requests to all departments effectively via group resumes and Banquet Event Orders
  • Solicits new business through sales calls, prospecting, hotel tours, and client hosting
  • Maintains relationships with in-house customers to encourage repeat bookings and referrals
  • Ensures maximum occupancy through follow-ups with the events services team and meeting planners
  • Participates in developing and implementing business strategies aligned with company mission and values
  • Creates 100% guest satisfaction by demonstrating genuine hospitality and resolving guest issues with empathy
  • Attends networking events and represents the hotel in community involvement opportunities
