Job Requirements

  • Minimum one to three years full service hotel experience in sales or catering department
  • Local market knowledge preferred
  • High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience managing to brand standards
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with hotel staff and management
  • Exposure to or experience coordinating hotel sales contract laws
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, Delphi and/or Opera
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to work flexible schedules due to business volume or group needs

Job Duties

  • Participates in the development and implementation of business strategies for the hotel aligned with overall mission and values
  • Develops and implements strategies for achieving individual sales goals
  • Achieves market share and revenue goals with sales and marketing collaboration
  • Prepares proposals and contracts to maximize profit while satisfying client needs
  • Responds to Requests for Proposals in alignment with brand standards
  • Communicates client requests effectively via group resumes and Banquet Event Orders
  • Solicits new business through calls, prospecting, hotel tours, and client hosting
  • Delivers and sells hotel features to meet client needs
  • Contacts in-house customers to retain and grow business
  • Reviews individual goals weekly and adjusts actions accordingly
  • Ensures maximum occupancy through follow-ups on group bookings
  • Ensures all marketing materials adhere to brand standards
  • Travels to trade shows and customer events as required
  • Maintains sales team information flow and assists in monthly booking reports
  • Prepares reports and forecasts to aid management decisions
  • Provides 100% guest satisfaction through genuine hospitality
  • Resolves guest issues empathetically and follows through
  • Supports teamwork and personal responsibility in guest service
  • Performs other duties as assigned to maintain guest satisfaction
  • Manages sales initiatives, RFPs, BEOs, and negotiates client requests
  • Conducts market research and analysis to align with industry trends
  • Services booked events as liaison between guests and hotel departments
