- be between 21 and 36 years old
- have a body mass index (bmi) under 32
- have had at least one successful pregnancy and delivery
- not have more than five deliveries and two c-section births
- be a nonsmoker and drug-free
- have stable mental and physical health
- maintain a stable lifestyle
- have a clean criminal record
- be a u.s. citizen or permanent resident

- support the intended parents by providing updates and necessary information
