Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree in food science, biological sciences or related degree
  • equivalent experience in quality and/or food safety or manufacturing field
  • knowledge of GMP's, SOP's, SSOP's, Kosher, Halal, Non-GMO, Gluten Free, Organic, FDA/USDA regulations, BRC, allergen programs, environmental and micro monitoring programs, HACCP, sanitation programs

Job Duties

  • provide specialist technical support to all functions and operations
  • ensure that products are safe and produced according to company established guidelines and specifications, customer requirements, regulatory compliance standards, FSMA, BRC version 9, and other food safety certification requirements such as Organic, Gluten Free, Non-GMO, Halal, Kosher
  • promote a safe work environment through adherence to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures including Indiana OSHA regulations
  • enforce and maintain all food safety and quality programs including Environmental, Kosher, Halal, Organic, HACCP, Gluten Free, IP/Non-GMO, vendor approval support, raw ingredient receiving inspection and release
  • perform daily testing to ensure product or equipment meets established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance
  • conduct equipment calibration and troubleshooting
  • coordinate samples, testing, results and follow up with corrective actions if needed
  • perform raw material inspection, testing and release
  • conduct visual inspection after sanitation and coordinate line cleaning
  • create and assign corrective action requests (CARs) and review standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • assist during traces and audits as instructed
  • perform finished goods inspection as appointed by QA Manager
  • execute other assignments related to duties by the QA Manager or designee
