Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous purchasing or procurement experience required preferably in hospitality or food and beverage industry
- ability to lift, push and carry moderate to heavy weights consistently
- proficiency with Microsoft Office and purchasing software preferred
- excellent communication and organizational skills
- strong multitasking ability
- open availability including weekends and holidays
- commitment to exceptional customer service
Job Qualifications
- previous purchasing or procurement experience preferably in hotel or high-volume food and beverage establishment
- understanding of food and beverage cost control
- experience managing inventories, requisitions, receiving deliveries, and package shipping
- proficiency with Microsoft Office, Birchstreet, Oracle, Opera, and Markview preferred
- strong multitasking skills
- detail-oriented
- good communication and organizational skills
- strong customer service focus
- open schedule availability including weekends and holidays
- ability to walk extensively and lift, push, and carry moderate to heavy weight consistently
Job Duties
- source and procure food, beverage, rooms, engineering, and other items at competitive prices
- manage receiving of orders and packages, tracking and inspection for quality and accuracy
- process invoices and create purchase orders in Birchstreet
- update and add vendors and system users in purchasing software
- fill requisitions, receive products, and complete inventory for storerooms including food and beverage areas
- track food cost by food and beverage outlet
- manage computerized food requisition system
- assist culinary with delivery of food for meal functions and events
- process and payment of invoices and reconciliation for month-end procedures
- maintain purchasing systems and ensure approval and competitive pricing
- oversee receiving and storage of inbound and outbound packages
- distribute goods within hotel to appropriate locations
- set par stock levels based on sales data and inventory needs
- maintain storeroom organization, cleanliness, and proper storage
- resolve supply, quality, or logistics issues with vendors and departments
- communicate regularly with vendors, sales reps, Chef, and Director of Finance
