Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • six months of manual labor or construction related experience
  • valid Florida driver’s license
  • acceptable background record
  • acceptable driving record
  • ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 60 pounds
  • ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • willingness to follow safety protocols
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • willingness to perform manual tasks and operate machinery

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • six months of manual labor, construction, or maintenance related experience preferred
  • knowledge of maintenance tasks for streets and sidewalks
  • ability to operate hand and power tools
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • valid Florida driver’s license
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • basic knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions

Job Duties

  • Perform tasks related to the maintenance of city owned roads, facilities, beaches, and rights-of-way
  • operate hand and power tools including air hammers, earth tampers, and cement mixers
  • smooth and level concrete surfaces such as sidewalks and curbs
  • align and place forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters and patch voids
  • mow, trim, weed, plant, water, fertilize, and perform related landscaping duties
  • collect trash and debris from city properties and dispose of them properly
  • follow safety procedures and use safety equipment
  • maintain and clean tools and equipment
  • communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
