Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- six months of manual labor or construction related experience
- valid Florida driver’s license
- acceptable background record
- acceptable driving record
- ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 60 pounds
- ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- willingness to follow safety protocols
- ability to communicate effectively
- willingness to perform manual tasks and operate machinery
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- six months of manual labor, construction, or maintenance related experience preferred
- knowledge of maintenance tasks for streets and sidewalks
- ability to operate hand and power tools
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- valid Florida driver’s license
- effective communication skills
- ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- basic knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
Job Duties
- Perform tasks related to the maintenance of city owned roads, facilities, beaches, and rights-of-way
- operate hand and power tools including air hammers, earth tampers, and cement mixers
- smooth and level concrete surfaces such as sidewalks and curbs
- align and place forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters and patch voids
- mow, trim, weed, plant, water, fertilize, and perform related landscaping duties
- collect trash and debris from city properties and dispose of them properly
- follow safety procedures and use safety equipment
- maintain and clean tools and equipment
- communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
