Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Obtain Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) within two years
  • Obtain Stop the Bleed Certification within one year of hire
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be certified in Conducted Energy Weapon use within 90 days of hire
  • For North Carolina teammates, obtain Unarmed Guard License within one year
  • Pass background investigation drug screening and pre-employment physical
  • Maintain required licenses such as FOID card or CCW license
  • Complete State of Illinois 20-hour Basic Security Officer course if applicable
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform physical activities throughout the day
  • Capacity to handle aggressive and emotionally charged situations
  • Ability to communicate clearly via radio and telephone
  • Must be physically fit to walk facilities grounds and assist with physical restraints

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) within two years
  • Stop the Bleed Certification within one year of hire
  • Valid driver's license
  • Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card or Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license
  • Certified in Conducted Energy Weapon use within 90 days of hire
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in security related public safety or customer service with emergent situation response
  • Knowledge of emotional intelligence collaborative work with medical staff and law enforcement
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment and sound reasoning with courteous demeanor
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer documentation such as Microsoft Word Excel and database entry

Job Duties

  • Provides security services with a customer-service approach focusing on professionalism fairness and compassion
  • Inspires confidence in patients visitors and team members by presenting a professional approachable and service-oriented demeanor
  • Performs routine interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety and security including inspections and contraband searches
  • Responds to and investigates incidents on property completing accurate reports and escalating complaints
  • Serves as a resource for de-escalation and uses force such as conducted electrical weapons and handcuffing when necessary
  • Plans and responds to emergencies including lost or abducted children fire and active threats
  • Maintains training standards in communications de-escalation hemorrhage control CPR and use of conducted energy weapons
  • Assists with traffic and crowd control including parking enforcement and valet assistance
