Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years of security experience
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Valid Florida Class D Security License
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and conduct
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and security technology systems

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D., some college preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on security experience
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a security-related role
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Problem-solving and leadership capabilities
  • Clear police record and eligibility under state security guidelines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based platforms
  • Experience with fire alarm and life safety systems
  • Skilled in operating CCTV and access control systems
  • Familiarity with emergency communication platforms
  • Valid Florida Class D Security License
  • Valid Driver's License
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification preferred
  • OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Directly manages full and part-time Public Safety Supervisors and indirectly supervises Public Safety Officers and contracted security personnel
  • Maintains surveillance, post orders, and security standards across the MBCC campus and associated venues
  • Oversees the Command Center operations and ensures proper functioning of life-safety systems
  • Conducts shift briefings and ensures appropriate staffing levels for all events
  • Manages incident reporting, risk concerns, staffing issues, and communicates key information to the Director of Public Safety & Transportation
  • Develops and enforces policies, procedures, and best practices for the Public Safety Department
  • Coordinates emergency preparedness, threat assessments, and safety training in collaboration with internal departments and external agencies
