Job Requirements
- NIMS Incident Management Level 1 certification within 120 days of hire unless already certified
- CPR, First Aid, AED Instructor certification maintained through employment
- Obtain and maintain security license under Ohio Department of Public Safety qualifying agent
- Minimum eight years of progressively responsible management experience in security or law enforcement
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check
- Ability to work various schedules including nights, weekends, holidays and shifts
- Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds
- Must have physical ability to walk and/or stand up to 6-10 hours daily
- Valid state driver’s license
- Ability to interact with guests courteously and speak confidently in public
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible management experience in security or law enforcement
- Solid knowledge of problems, issues, philosophies, principles, tactics and procedures related to venue security and safety services
- Extensive knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations, court decisions and ordinances affecting security operations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Skills in interpersonal relations
- Ability to build solid relationships while holding staff accountable
- Ability to prioritize tasks and lead a diverse workforce
- Superior customer service and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Valid state driver’s license in good standing
Job Duties
- Develops and maintains departmental policies, programs and standard operating procedures to protect and minimize liability exposures and losses and implements improvements as needed
- Oversees all security and safety activities to ensure the highest possible level of security, safety and comfort to all patrons and employees
- Exemplifies a customer service philosophy and public relations approach to all duties and promotes this philosophy with department staff
- Serves as liaison with law enforcement, safety regulatory and security agencies
- Manages and oversees operational requirements of security and safety to assure optimum and cost-effective use of manpower and equipment
- Manages and oversees facility staff training in safety related areas such as CRASE training, CPR, Crowd Control certification
- Manages investigations related to security incidents, loss prevention issues or other venue issues
- Serves as liaison with show managers, show contractors, private security firms and staff
- Responsible for all in-house security systems, key systems and photo ID badge program
- Manages activities to control accident, health and loss exposures and assures compliance with OSHA regulations
- Interacts with guests in a friendly, courteous and polite manner including initiating contact within 10 feet
- Comfortable speaking to large groups or guests as needed
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned
