Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum experience in safety, security, or related field desired
  • Ability to work various shifts and days including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to travel by plane and/or car for training and court sessions
  • Mental and emotional capability to make sound decisions quickly in life-threatening situations
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with senior management, employees, and guests
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Physical ability to lift up to fifty pounds occasionally

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a team-oriented approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • Ability to effectively communicate with highly agitated and emotionally unstable persons during intense situations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under high-pressure emergencies
  • Basic analytical skills to organize workload and establish priorities
  • Strong writing skills with correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar
  • Ability to stand, walk, crouch, bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to fifty pounds occasionally
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs

Job Duties

  • Manage the operation of all Public Safety Departments including Security, Loss Prevention, First Aid, Parking Lot, and Risk Management
  • Develop the Safety and Security Departments expense and labor budgets and ensure compliance by monitoring expenses and labor levels
  • Conduct accident investigations to determine the root cause of guest and employee incidents and routinely inspect for hazards
  • Handle all litigation claims by reporting, investigating, and maintaining files, and serve as the Park liaison with attorneys and insurance companies
  • Coordinate and participate in recruiting, interviewing, and selection of Public Safety employees, manage training programs, scheduling, supervision, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions
  • Respond to calls involving guest or employee illnesses and accidents and assist in providing emergency medical treatment
  • Interpret, implement, and update safety compliance manuals, emergency response manuals, first aid protocols, and support corporate safety and health standards
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the park's security program ensuring compliance with all laws and ordinances
  • Meet and review Emergency Response Procedures with local, county, state, and federal agencies
  • Develop training programs and coordinate scaled emergency response simulations
  • Adhere to and enforce all company policies including safety, attendance, and equal employment opportunity
