Job Requirements

  • high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • eighteen months full-time emergency service dispatch experience
  • demonstrate typing speed of 40 words per minute
  • submit POST Public Safety Dispatchers' Basic Course certification if possessed
  • obtain California POST Dispatch Basic certification within 12 months
  • obtain CLETS Terminal Operator certification within 12 months
  • obtain CPR certification within 12 months
  • obtain Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification within 12 months

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • eighteen months full-time emergency service dispatch experience
  • knowledge of law enforcement, fire, or medical dispatch procedures
  • ability to type at least 40 words per minute
  • experience with Sunridge RIMS CAD preferred
  • possession of Emergency Medical Dispatching Certificate preferred

Job Duties

  • receive and dispatch calls for law enforcement, fire service, and emergency medical personnel
  • gather and relay caller information to appropriate units or agencies
  • provide assistance and pre-arrival medical instructions to callers
  • log all call details into computer systems
  • monitor activity and locations of public safety units
  • maintain communication with field personnel
  • ensure timely and accurate response coordination
