Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in public safety dispatching preferred
- ability to pass comprehensive background investigation
- must complete California Personal History Statement form
- willingness to undergo polygraph, psychological, and medical examination
- strong commitment to public service
- ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- residency within proximity to the City of Napa preferred
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience in public safety dispatching, preferably with law enforcement or fire service
- possession of P.O.S.T. Dispatch Training Certificate preferred
- ability to work effectively under pressure
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong interpersonal abilities to interact with diverse populations
- proficiency with computer-aided dispatch and related technology
- demonstrated adaptability and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- answer 911 emergency calls promptly and professionally
- dispatch appropriate emergency response personnel and resources
- maintain accurate and detailed logs of incidents and communications
- communicate effectively with multiple agencies and departments
- manage stressful and fast-paced situations while maintaining composure
- utilize computer-aided dispatch systems and other technology efficiently
- participate in training and continuous development to stay current with procedures and protocols
