Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid EMT License recognized by the State of Connecticut’s Department of Public Health
  • Minimum of one year experience in public safety, EMS, or dispatch preferred
  • Ability to use electronic CAD systems
  • Strong critical thinking and multitasking abilities in emergency settings
  • Capacity to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Valid EMT License recognized by the State of Connecticut's Department of Public Health
  • One year experience in public safety, EMS, or dispatch preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic CAD systems
  • Strong critical thinking and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Dispatch emergency requests for hospital public safety and fire safety departments
  • Coordinate LIFE STAR helicopter flight requests
  • Manage Connecticut Children Medical Center’s Critical Care Ground Transport Team responses
  • Prioritize incoming emergency calls using established procedures
  • Obtain and record necessary information for dispatch
  • Pre-alert and notify appropriate response teams
  • Use electronic CAD systems to document and track incidents
