Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must obtain a Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation within 90 days of employment
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and discretion
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to work day shifts
  • Ability to respond effectively, quickly, calmly, and rationally during conflicts and emergencies
  • Capacity to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with frequent interruptions
  • Willingness to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred
  • Experience in security or law enforcement preferred
  • 1-2 years of job related experience in public safety and/or security role preferred
  • Strong customer service background

Job Duties

  • Greet incoming patients and visitors to the medical center and verify reason for visit
  • Validate proper identification of incoming patients, visitors and staff
  • Provide accurate directions to patients and visitors to insure they reach their destination within the medical center
  • Enter visitor information into the visitor management system and issue visitor badges to individuals that have been properly validated
  • Prohibit access to individuals that have been restricted due to security related events or patient request
  • Collect and scan out visitor badges when visitors are exiting the medical center to maintain an accurate visitation log/count
  • Conduct foot patrols in assigned areas, double tap required tour access points and report identified safety and security related risk/issues
