Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must obtain a Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation within 90 days of employment
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and discretion
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to work day shifts
- Ability to respond effectively, quickly, calmly, and rationally during conflicts and emergencies
- Capacity to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with frequent interruptions
- Willingness to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred
- Experience in security or law enforcement preferred
- 1-2 years of job related experience in public safety and/or security role preferred
- Strong customer service background
Job Duties
- Greet incoming patients and visitors to the medical center and verify reason for visit
- Validate proper identification of incoming patients, visitors and staff
- Provide accurate directions to patients and visitors to insure they reach their destination within the medical center
- Enter visitor information into the visitor management system and issue visitor badges to individuals that have been properly validated
- Prohibit access to individuals that have been restricted due to security related events or patient request
- Collect and scan out visitor badges when visitors are exiting the medical center to maintain an accurate visitation log/count
- Conduct foot patrols in assigned areas, double tap required tour access points and report identified safety and security related risk/issues
