Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience planning events including budget oversight and publicity
- Outstanding writing and speaking abilities suited to engage with scholarly research discourse
- Competence in assessing operational success and executing strategic modifications to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of four years of experience in administrative roles demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility
- Proficiency with a broad range of social media platforms including but not limited to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
- Proven graphic design abilities and expert-level skills with Adobe Creative Suite software
- Advanced proficiency in coordinating and supporting Zoom meetings and webinars including the capability to produce recordings of superior quality
- Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to execute project work as well as engage effectively within a team environment fostering a culture based on respect and collaboration
- Availability for a flexible schedule to accommodate the occasional need for evening and weekend events
- A demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity, equity, access, and inclusion within professional settings
- The ability to maneuver materials up to 25 pounds including moving to heights of 3-4 feet and placing them on various surfaces such as tables and carts
Job Duties
- Develop, create, and maintain a robust social media presence aimed at engaging students, faculty, and the broader community
- Work closely with faculty and staff to design and disseminate high-quality branding materials for multiple media channels
- Create and oversee marketing and event budgets with a view to cost-efficiency and high impact
- Spearhead alumni engagement and create communications to foster exceptional donor relations
- Produce and circulate the Philosophy Department's annual newsletter ensuring timely and informative updates
- Facilitate support for faculty and graduate students in planning and executing lectures, conferences, and other significant events
- Provide comprehensive event coordination including travel arrangements, venue booking, catering services, and technological requirements
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of student office assistants ensuring operational efficiency and quality support
- Manage the reception area with a focus on professionalism and departmental phone line communications
