Job Requirements

  • Completion of four years college with courses in journalism English and public speaking
  • Two years professional experience in informational writing research or dissemination of information
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Completion of ISP background check and drug screening
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel statewide including overnight stays
  • Ability to lift load unload set up and tear down equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and assist with lifting up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to attend seminars conferences and trainings to stay current with industry methods tools and ideologies
  • Ability to use agency technology and equipment properly in compliance with security and confidentiality policies

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of four years college with courses in journalism English and public speaking
  • Two years professional experience in informational writing research or dissemination of information
  • Professional experience working with current media formats and non-linear editing preferred
  • Experience in studio video production planning developing shooting or directing preferred
  • Experience recording and editing training videos preferred
  • Experience editing video including redacting portions of audio or video preferred

Job Duties

  • Serve as videographer and editor producing and shooting video productions
  • Perform statewide field productions and editing of news events
  • Plan direct shoot and monitor video production and duplication sections
  • Serve as liaison between Illinois State Police and news media regarding video distribution
  • Assist Chief Public Information Officer and Social Media Coordinator
  • Write video scripts
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
