Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of three years of hotel or apartment experience preferred
  • knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing maintenance
  • experience with general maintenance tools
  • troubleshooting ability with skills in painting, HVAC, and carpentry
  • ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers
  • basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment

Job Duties

  • Create a safe and attractive environment for guests and associates by ensuring the hotel is maintained in accordance with safety standards
  • complete hotel room and building repairs such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, patching vinyl, and painting
  • perform repairs on toilets, sinks, laundry facilities, kitchen and other hotel property needs
  • develop plans for completing routine and preventative maintenance and renovations, coordinate work with hotel department managers
  • maintain safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the hotel, grounds, and pool area
  • clean and maintain the lobby and other public areas to ensure a safe and clean experience for hotel guests, associates, and vendors
  • clean public restrooms and replenish supplies as needed
  • vacuum and sweep all floor surfaces of the hotel
  • pick up newspapers, glassware, trash, etc. from lobby and front of the hotel
  • maintain a friendly, cheerful, courteous, and professional demeanor at all times
  • handle all deliveries for housekeeping and maintenance departments
  • work directly with the housekeeping, maintenance & breakfast department heads
  • help set up, break down and clean up the meeting room/event center as needed
  • be available during meeting hours to check in with the group, refreshing water and coffee as needed
  • fulfill additional requests from group/leader if needed
  • assist with food/beverage needs such as ensuring breakfast/lunch/snacks are displayed or delivered to meeting room on time and arranged with care
  • keep inventory of meeting room supplies such as notepads, pens, ice pitchers, glasses, quality linens, LCD projector and attachments, flip charts, whiteboards, projector screen, and sound system equipment
  • refresh and reset meeting space in the evenings for multi-day meetings
  • thoroughly clean meeting spaces after conclusion
  • follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
  • report necessary maintenance items
  • follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • perform all other duties as assigned
