Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • Previous housekeeping experience highly preferred
  • Flexible availability with long hours sometimes required
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns
  • Multitask and prioritize departmental functions

Job Duties

  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and employees
  • Use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with employees
  • Practice safe work habits to ensure safety
  • Handle Lost and Found items as per hotel standards
  • Turn in all keys and assignment sheets to the Housekeeping Office at shift end
  • Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager
  • Assist with guestroom cleaning procedures when needed
  • Deliver clean linen to assigned sections if necessary
  • Pick up room attendant's dirty linen or trash as needed
  • Collect and dispose of trash from service landings according to procedures
  • Vacuum guest corridors
  • Keep hallways, public areas, and closets neat and organized
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in public restrooms
  • Adhere to the schedule for project cleaning of public areas
  • Maintain stairwells to hotel standards
  • Keep ash urns clean and filled with sand
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
