Job Qualifications

- basic knowledge of menu items and preparation

Job Duties
- serve meals to residents, family members, and visitors in a professional, dignified, efficient and courteous manner
- assure compliance with all proper serving techniques/etiquette
- assist residents with menu selections as needed
- accurately and professionally take residents and guests' food and beverage orders
- verify food matches items ordered on POS and reflect special requests
- ensure that plates are presentable before serving
- bring and serve food using large trays and tray stands
- serve as a liaison with kitchen and dining room staff to make corrections or adjustments to orders
- track residents' attendance at meals
- deliver meals to resident rooms as required
- prepare dining room prior to each meal by performing necessary cleaning and stocking
- check dining room stock and nourishments and restock as necessary
- clean tables and chairs after meals and pick up floor areas
- bus tables and return dishes to kitchen
- maintain clean and sanitary work environment
- report equipment safety issues to supervisors
- cooperate and be flexible with daily schedule
- assist in food inventory and wash dishes when needed
- follow standards for time and attendance
- display tact and friendliness with residents, families, and visitors
- provide support to marketing efforts through positive interaction
- communicate any observed or suspected resident change of condition
- maintain a safe and secure environment
- encourage teamwork
- support a positive and professional image
- perform other duties as assigned
