Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • ability to communicate by speaking, seeing, and hearing
  • orderly and professional appearance
  • free of communicable disease
  • ability to read, write, and speak English
  • courteous and diplomatic manner with residents and associates
  • completion of drug testing and criminal background check
  • physical ability to bend, stand, lift up to 40 pounds, stoop, sit, walk, and stretch
  • adherence to policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • Administer or follow written and oral directions
  • communicate and relate to community residents
  • assist in set-ups and dining room service
  • take orders and serve food appropriately
  • set-up and deliver trays upon request
  • bus tables and trays
  • pour and cover beverages and prepare and cover food
  • assist in proper care and use of kitchen and dining equipment
  • clean all work areas as directed
  • work at a steady pace to meet demands
  • work cooperatively with other dining associates
  • understand and relate the menu to residents
  • act as liaison between residents and food service department
  • follow infection control procedures related to food service
  • follow residents' rights policies
  • follow facility safety program
  • maintain neat appearance and appropriate dress code
  • work scheduled shifts and demonstrate dependability
  • perform other duties as necessary
