Job Description

Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to work part-time hours approximately two to three hours per day, three days per week
  • possession of a Class C California Driver's License
  • basic knowledge of first aid
  • willingness to obtain Standard First Aid and CPR certification if not already held
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • ability to work with children aged 6-14
  • must be able to pass a background check

Job Qualifications

  • Combination of training, education and experience related to recreation program management
  • knowledge of basic arithmetic and first aid principles
  • ability to communicate effectively and maintain accurate records
  • Spanish speaking skills desirable
  • ability to plan recreational activities for youth
  • possession of Class C California Driver's License
  • First Aid and CPR certification desirable

Job Duties

  • Plan and organize recreational programs for children aged 6-14
  • lead games, sports, arts and crafts, music, drama and dance activities
  • supervise the issuance and use of recreation equipment and supplies
  • conduct safety and maintenance inspections of recreation facilities
  • prepare sites for playground and special programs
  • maintain accurate paperwork and submit oral and written reports
  • assist in the supervision of community-wide special events
