Job Description

Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to work part-time hours approximately two to three hours per day, three days per week
- possession of a Class C California Driver's License
- basic knowledge of first aid
- willingness to obtain Standard First Aid and CPR certification if not already held
- strong organizational and communication skills
- ability to work with children aged 6-14
- must be able to pass a background check
Job Qualifications
- Combination of training, education and experience related to recreation program management
- knowledge of basic arithmetic and first aid principles
- ability to communicate effectively and maintain accurate records
- Spanish speaking skills desirable
- ability to plan recreational activities for youth
- possession of Class C California Driver's License
- First Aid and CPR certification desirable
Job Duties
- Plan and organize recreational programs for children aged 6-14
- lead games, sports, arts and crafts, music, drama and dance activities
- supervise the issuance and use of recreation equipment and supplies
- conduct safety and maintenance inspections of recreation facilities
- prepare sites for playground and special programs
- maintain accurate paperwork and submit oral and written reports
- assist in the supervision of community-wide special events
