Job Description

The Recreation Division plays a vital role in fostering community engagement and providing diverse recreational opportunities through its well-managed facilities and programs. Dedicated to creating enjoyable and safe environments for residents and visitors, the division oversees the operations of various recreation centers, ensuring seamless coordination of activities, rentals, and special events beyond regular business hours. These centers serve as pivotal venues for community gatherings, classes, rentals, and drop-in activities designed to promote wellness and social interaction.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age with a valid work permit
  • possess a positive attitude
  • demonstrate flexibility to work in various recreation program areas
  • capable of working evenings, holidays, and weekends
  • able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • capable of performing physical tasks related to setting up and taking down furnishings
  • ability to maintain control and care of facilities and equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of recreation activities
  • knowledge of facility management techniques
  • knowledge of basic custodial practices
  • knowledge of health and safety practices
  • understanding of policies and procedures for rentals and special events
  • ability to communicate effectively with staff and public

  • ability to complete reports accurately and timely

Job Duties

  • Supervises recreation center and maintains visibility for drop-in activities and rentals
  • sets up and takes down furnishings per renters' instructions
  • prepares rooms for meetings, rentals, and classes
  • completes attendance, maintenance, and other reports as requested
  • secures building at end of shift
  • maintains care of department facilities, equipment, and supplies
  • completes nightly and special custodial duties
  • performs other duties as required
