Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year experience in security or related public safety or customer service
  • Must obtain Security Officer Healthcare Certification within two years
  • Must obtain Stop the Bleed Certification within one year
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Certification in conducted energy weapon use within 90 days of hire
  • Must successfully pass background investigation drug screen and pre-placement physical
  • Ability to sit stand walk and drive throughout shift
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally
  • Must have 20/20 vision or correctable to 20/20
  • Must be able to handle work-related stress and possible violence
  • Ability to communicate clearly via radio and telephone
  • Illinois team members must complete State of Illinois 20-hour Basic Security Officer course

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Typically requires 1 years of experience in security public safety or customer service involving emergent situations and issue resolution
  • Security Officer Healthcare Certification must be obtained within two years of appointment
  • Stop the Bleed Certification must be obtained within one year of hire
  • Valid driver’s license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicle
  • Certified in Conducted Energy Weapon use within 90 days of hire and periodically thereafter
  • Ability to use computer for documentation
  • Demonstrated ability in verbal and written communications
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment and sound reasoning with courteous and tactful demeanor

Job Duties

  • Provides security services with a customer-service approach focusing on professionalism fairness and compassion
  • Inspires confidence in patients visitors and team members by presenting a professional approachable and service-oriented appearance
  • Performs interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety including inspections for vulnerabilities hazards fire conditions patient valuables management and contraband searches
  • Responds to workplace violence service calls combative or threatening individuals and team member incidents
  • Serves as a resource for de-escalation and uses conducted electrical weapons and handcuffing when necessary
  • Plans prevents and responds to emergencies such as lost or abducted infants fire and active threats
  • Investigates incidents on property completes reports and escalates complaints to appropriate leaders
